There were stunned reactions from onlookers as the official portrait of President Obama was unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery Monday. It shows the president seated in front of a wall of leaves and flowers and was painted by Kehinde Wiley, best known for his vibrant, large-scale paintings of African-Americans. Wiley said he used paintings of ivy and various flowers from Illinois, Kenya and Hawaii. The room cheered after Wiley and Obama pulled the curtain to unveil the portrait.
