Leatherface is one of the most enduring icons in horror movies, slasher movies, scary movies, whatever you want to call them, it doesn’t matter, because the star of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series is one classic cannibal. From the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 to this year’s Leatherface prequel 2017, one thing is for sure in a Leatherface movie: This cannibal killer is one dangerous dude. From his early days in the Leatherface prequel and Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, to the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie directed by Tobe Hooper starring Gunnar Hansen, it’s sequels The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, Texas Chainsaw 3D and the Michael Bay Platinum Dunes 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, Leatherface is one of the most memorable killers in the history of horror, and the Texas Chainsaw series is filled with the gore and scary screams of his victims. When you see that terrifying Leatherface mask made with human flesh, you’d better know how to kill Leatherface. On the surface, it shouldn’t be that hard to kill Leatherface. Leatherface is just a mortal human after all, but when it comes to Leatherface deaths, there hasn’t been too many deaths of Leatherface.

Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of Leatherface kills, too many to fit in a Leatherface kill compilation, but he doesn’t actually die that often in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. Take the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie from 1974, where he gets up and does a Leatherface dance as his victims escape. In the sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface actually dies in a chainsaw duel at the hands of Dennis Hopper. But Leatherface and his Leatherface family live to kill another day, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre family returns in Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. After The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation almost killed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series went away until the Michael Bay Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 2003. Produced by Platinum Dunes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 was a Bayhem-filled remake starring Jessica Biel and a brand new remake Leatherface. For the next film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, prequel rules kinda dictated that Leatherface wasn’t gonna die, so he didn’t. He also survives Texas Chainsaw 3D, where he finds his long lost cousin and lives happily ever after in a mansion of death. Now, with the recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, Leatherface 2017, we still don’t get any insight in how to kill this big bad butcher. We don’t know what’s in store for future Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, but hopefully someone can figure out How to Kill Leatherface.
